Norm Huxman Bass
Norm was born in Hutchinson,
Kansas, to Kansas farmers, Milton and Catherine Huxman.
Three years later, Milton accepted his call to the pastoral
ministry, and Norm was changed from a farmer to a P.K. (Preacher’s Kid, and later Promise Keeper) His appearance
remained very similar.

He started singing
as a tenor in a church quartet, and then his dreams of being a tenor were
dashed when his voice changed to bass at age 14. Except for one member, the
church quartet in
which he sang was also the high school quartet, and
then a college quartet.
The famous pianist and songwriter, J.M. "Whitey"
Gleason asked Norm if he would like to sing in
a Southern Gospel
Quartet. He would and he did. Norm sang in various quartets throughout the
country, including The Sooner State Quartet and the well known Weatherford
Quartet. However,
most of the years spent in full-time singing were
with his childhood idol and lifetime friend, Whitey
Gleason, and The
Jubilee Quartet.
Norm and his family moved to Denver, Colorado. In 1981,
Legacy Quartet © was organized. He
is thankful that God has
blessed them indeed, and continues to open doors throughout the
U.S.A.
and other countries. Norm praises God for the privilege of singing for his Lord
and Savior,
along with his dear friends in the Legacy Quartet
©.
Norm is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Kay. She has been a
wonderful support
throughout his singing and business career. Kay helps
in the business affairs of Legacy, and
they are thankful to get to
travel together wherever God leads Legacy. They have been blessed
with
their daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Rick Young, and grandsons, Ryan and
Tyler. They
are also blessed with their son, Barry, and wife
Jane.
